Hi

This is just a short message to all the juniors to say thank you for all the hard work you have been putting in this year with the events, the general running of the railway and at the moment the Santa specials.

You are an absolute credit to Dave and I, the railway and of course your families.

Hello

My wife and I have been visiting your Stanhope station for a number of years and would like to congratulate you on the professionalism and consistent friendliness of your team at the station, we are especially impressed with your junior members. During our last visit, on the 5-4-09, the young people spent considerable time demonstrating and explaining how the digitally operated model railway system worked. Additionally, the owner of the layout also provided advice and guidance on using digital control.
The staff were all well presented, courteous and genuinely enthusiastic when talking to the visitors.
Your staff are a credit to the railway enthusiast community and the introduction of the wrjc has developed into a group that you must be rightly proud of, as they are an example for other railways to follow within the preservation movement.
Well done

Mr %26 Mrs G.Allon

Dear David

I am writing to say how impressed I was with the lads who helped me yesterday.

They were polite, keen and needed no direction from me – they just got on with it.

I seriously couldn’t have done it without them and I think that the Junior Club is a wonderful idea.

Well done to you and Michael and the Junior Club

Many thanks

Wendy Elsdon

Subject:Junior Club - Santa Specials

Hi David,
As you know, today was my last duty at Weardale, before the New Year.
I'd like you to know that I thought the organisation of the Santa Specials was excellent. No doubt there were some hitches along the way, which some of us volunteers don't see, but on the days when I have been rostered, it has been really rewarding to see the satisfaction shown by the members of the public and, of course, the happiness of the children.

I particularly want to mention the Junior Club. I think that the way in which they worked to help the Santa Specials to operate was exemplary. From what I saw, they were given many different tasks, all of which were carried out with great efficiency. In particular the way in which they dealt with the public was outstanding. In my experience, it is not always easy for young people to deal with adults (indeed it is not always easy for some adults to deal with adults). Our youngsters did this with confidence, and this is also something in my experience which I have enjoyed seeing.

I hope this email gets to you before the last operation tomorrow. Please pass on my compliments to the Junior Club. I hope Santa Claus is kind to them!!!
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to you and your team.
Kind regards,
Bob Stapley

Subject:Rememberance Sunday

Hi to those around on Sunday

Just to say how proud Dave and I were once again with a number of things you did last Sunday.

1) You all behaved excellently at the Rememberance service, even though some of you were representing other agencies such as St John and Scouts etc you were all brilliant.

2) The job you have done with the General Waiting Room , Old shop, portacabins and storage unit was far beyond the call of duty, particularly the replacing of floor tiles where they had got damaged by water - very well done indeed, again you did the railway and us proud

3) A special thank you to those who took up the challenge when the cafe was abandoned by the adult member of staff on duty that day and coped more than admirably

You truly are a special group of youngsters and we are proud to know and work with you.
